Artist Statement

Megan Arthur artist statement (2014) -


Art has been a huge part of my life for as long as i can remember; Painting things, drawing thing, and  creating new things. I use art as a way to express my emotions and life experiences. I am constantly thinking of new ideas my mind is an endless canvas. Plain and simple I enjoy making things that are visually appealing, fun to look at, and pieces that make viewers think.

Most of art work is digital, working in programs such as, photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Painter. If it wasn't for a mistake (which i now call a blessing) in my 7th grade schedule by being placing me into media productions class i would have never learned my love for graphic design and video editing. I  took almost every digital art class my high school had to offer, I continue to learn more and more everyday and develop as an artist I can't get enough of it.

I know art will always be a HUGE part in my life. As a young artist, i can only hope to make it big one day. In the future i would love to pursue a career in video editing or digital marketing. I love the idea of drawing people in and inspiring them to want to go out and do something, using my creativity for advertising purposes also speaks to me, whether it be graphic design or directing commercials. Art and the love for being creative will always be a huge of me, I couldn't imagine pursuing a life that didn't incorporate that.
